Industry leading industrial pump manufacturer is currently looking for a Painter to join it's South Houston (Hobby Airport area) location. Position will require industrial painting experience on oil & gas equipment, skids, and and other equipment. Painter will also be required to help with painting/re-painting items throughout the facility such as railings, floor lines, office walls, etc., when needed or required. 

 

Responsibilities of the Painter include, but are not limited to:

  • Read and interpret paint reports to correctly adhere to company and client specifications.
  • Fills small dents and scratches with body filler and cleans and prepares surfaces to ensure paint and other finishes will adhere properly.
  • Be able to properly prep, sand, and apply coatings to parts fabricated from a variety of steels and metals.
  • Works with potentially hazardous materials so attention to safety and personal protection are essential.
  • Mix and spray paint and primer per work instructions.
  • Clean panels in preparation for painting and priming
  • Apply various coatings per piece including primer, top coat, clear coat, etc. 
  • Document the materials used in the process to maintain traceability.
  • Management of the collection, disposal, and storage of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes.
  • Clean and Maintain spray equipment between each use, including sprayers, pots, hoses, connections, etc.
  • Select appropriate paint or mix paints using automated paint mixing equipment.
  • Operate forklift and/or overhead crane to place, adjust, or rotate parts in paint booth.
  • Must be willing to support in shipping/receiving or other shop helper duties 

 

Qualifications of the Painter include, but are not limited to:

  • 2 to 3 years of experience in equipment painter and or industrial painting
  • 2 to 3 years of experience using gravities sprays, and mixing paints.
  • Must have recent experience painting pumps and working around pump systems.
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

Physical Demand: Ability to lift up to 50lbs

Working Conditions: Non-climate controlled shop environment

Training/Certifications: N/A

Shift Time/Overtime: Day Shift Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm CST, must be flexible for overtime and weekends as needed or required. Be open to last minute overtime requests or Saturday call ins. 

Travel:  N/A

Education: High School Diploma or GED
