Our client, a leading California-based law firm, is seeking a motivated Associate Litigation Attorney with 2-5 years of experience to join its dynamic team. The successful candidate will work closely with senior attorneys to support complex civil litigation cases, gaining valuable exposure and experience in the legal field.

Associate Litigation Attorney Responsibilities:

  • Case Support: Assist in managing various aspects of civil litigation cases, including participating in discovery, preparing documents, and supporting pre-trial procedures under the guidance of senior attorneys.
  • Document Preparation: Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other critical legal documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with court requirements.
  • Legal Research: Conduct thorough legal research on relevant statutes, case law, and legal precedents; prepare detailed reports and summaries to support case strategy.
  • Client and Witness Interaction: Participate in client and witness interviews, maintaining detailed records and drafting summaries for case documentation.
  • Court and Proceedings Attendance: Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediation sessions, assisting senior attorneys with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and evidence.
  • Regulatory Updates: Monitor changes in laws and regulations, collaborating with senior attorneys to inform clients of potential impacts on ongoing cases.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, providing updates and facilitating meetings as part of the broader litigation team.

Associate Litigation Attorney Qualifications and Experience:

  • 2-5 years of experience in civil litigation with exposure to trial preparation and courtroom proceedings.
  • Solid understanding of civil law principles and procedures, including an emphasis on contract, tort, and public entity law.
  • Strong research and legal writing skills, demonstrating excellent attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate within a team and interact with clients professionally.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active membership in the California Bar.
