We are seeking a highly accomplished and dynamic Surgery Center Administrator to direct, coordinate, and control all operational, clinical, and financial aspects of a high-quality surgical facility in Hawaii.
The Administrator serves as the chief executive on-site, demonstrating a primary goal of efficiently providing surgical services that exceed customer expectations, improve clinical outcomes, and enhance financial performance. This role is ideal for a proven operational leader who is dedicated to both clinical excellence and financial stewardship, especially one with ties to the local Hawaii community.
The Administrator is responsible for the overall success and management of the facility, focusing on four critical pillars:
Executive & Business Operations
Direct the daily operation of the facility and serve as the primary liaison between the Governing Board, the Medical Staff, and all facility departments.
Develop, monitor, and control the operating budget, capital budget, and purchasing plan.
Negotiate and control all external contracts (e.g., physicians, ancillary services, plant maintenance).
Establish pricing for procedures based on cost analysis and local market standards, closely monitoring financial performance.
Lead discussions/presentations during corporate Monthly Operations Reviews.
Clinical & Quality Leadership
Ensure 100% compliance with all government regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies (e.g., CMS, AAAHC/TJC).
Develop, evaluate, and promote a robust Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) program and administer the infection control program.
Work with the Medical Director and Medical Executive Committee to evaluate and develop existing and new surgical services.
Manage the clinical departments (nursing, central supply, medical records) and contracted services.
Personnel Administration & Employee Development
Manage exempt and non-exempt employees in accordance with facility policies, ensuring fair and effective practice.
Develop employee productivity analysis and assure efficiency of staff levels (increases or reductions) based on surgical case volume.
Approve the addition or deletion of positions and applicants for employment.
Oversee job-based orientation, training, and ongoing professional development for all employees.
Promote positive customer relations among employees, physicians, and patients.
Strategic Growth & Medical Staff Relations
Develop and implement a strategic sales/marketing plan and lead the facility's sales team to drive case volume.
Identify and develop new services appropriate for the ambulatory surgery center (ASC) setting.
Process the credentialing of all facility practitioners.
Collaborate with the Medical Director in the review and revision of the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules and Regulations.
Foster positive relationships between employees and practitioners and serve as a liaison in problem areas with the medical staff.
