Our client is a global leader in automotive and electromobility innovation.  

Currently, the company is expanding its operations with a new state-of-the-art facility in the Upstate, SC—where advanced processes like steel stamping, welding, and injection molding will support groundbreaking production for major OEMs. 

Summary:  

As a Test Technician, you will be an integral part of development projects, working on a variety of tasks that will challenge and expand your skills. You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing various testing tasks, supporting the development team in analyzing failure causes of test components, and defining measurement methods for different tests.  

Your role will also involve setting up, executing, evaluating, and documenting complex tests on battery components, creating validation and test plans, and maintaining test systems and infrastructure. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Innovative Testing: Plan, coordinate, and execute various testing tasks, including metallographic tasks (examining the structure of metals), documenting your findings to drive our projects forward. 

  • Problem Solving: Support our development team by analyzing failure causes of test components, focusing on material fatigue and other critical factors. 

  • Measurement Mastery: Define and implement measurement methods for environmental simulation tests, tensile and compression tests, and electrical tests, ensuring we meet automotive test standards. 

  • Hands-On Execution: Set up, execute, evaluate, and document complex tests on battery components, contributing to the development of next-generation technologies. 

  • Comprehensive Planning: Create validation and test plans that align with customer specifications and industry standards, coordinating and monitoring test orders both internally and externally. 

  • Equipment Expertise: Set up and adapt test equipment and facilities to meet specific tasks, maintaining and commissioning test systems and infrastructure. 

  • Troubleshooting: Analyze and resolve issues with test facilities and equipment, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. 

  • Process Improvement: Develop and optimize test and trial processes, contributing to continuous improvement and innovation. 

 

Qualifications:  

  • Experience in test execution and analysis 

  • Familiarity with electrical tools, diagnosis, and most hand/shop tools 

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail 

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Degree in engineering, materials science, or a related field (or equivalent experience) 

  • Experience with automotive testing standards 

  • Proficiency in testing techniques, including metallographic analysis
