Our client is a Tier 1 automotive supplier located in the Upstate, SC.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Quality Engineer to join their team.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented professional with equal strength in documentation and hands-on responsibilities on a production line. Experience with injection molding is required.

Summary:

In this role, you will play a crucial part in overseeing and managing all quality functions of the company. Your expertise in quality systems, process improvement, and industry standards will ensure the highest level of quality across our organization.

 

Tasks:

         Develop, implement, and maintain robust quality management systems in alignment with TS16949 standards, ensuring compliance throughout the company.

         Take ownership of the quality department and its employees, providing guidance, training, and support to foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.

         Update and control the Quality Manual to accurately reflect our quality policies, procedures, and objectives.

         Utilize Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to conduct precise part verification, ensuring adherence to quality specifications.

         Prepare comprehensive Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation for customers, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.

         Update, control, and create process documentation, including work instructions and standard operating procedures, to optimize quality and efficiency.

         File warranty claims with customers, demonstrating a proactive approach to addressing quality-related issues.

         Serve as the primary point of contact for customer complaints and quality-related concerns, resolving issues promptly and effectively.

 

Requirements:

         Minimum of a high school diploma.

         A 4-year college or university degree in business, quality, engineering, or a related field is preferred, providing a strong foundation for success in the role.

         3-5 years of experience in a quality-related role, preferably within the automotive industry, demonstrating a strong track record of success.

         Automotive supplier experience.

         Experience with injection molding processes

         Certified QMS Lead Internal Auditor IATF16949, showcasing expertise in conducting internal audits and ensuring compliance with quality standards.

         Certified Quality Technician (CQT) preferred, providing a solid foundation in quality principles and methodologies.

         Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred, enabling you to drive process improvements and operational excellence.

         Proficient in utilizing quality tools and methodologies such as Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), PPAP, APQP, and Control Plans.

         Strong computer literacy and ability to utilize various software applications for work-related tasks.

         Excellent teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve quality objectives.

         Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes and quality systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.

         Strong problem-solving skills, with proficiency in 8D problem-solving methodology to address complex quality issues.

         Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively.
