Our client is a Tier 1 automotive supplier, specializing in providing exterior components to major OEMs.

 

They are seeking a Paint Quality Engineer for their plant in Upstate, SC.

 

The ideal candidate will have strong paint experience in a quality related role along with an automotive manufacturing background.

 

Summary: 

As the Paint Quality Engineer, you will coordinate and prepare all quality planning activities for new programs and implement improvements to current programs at the assigned facility.

 

Tasks: 

·       Develop Control Plans (PQCT), FMEAs, and process flows.

·       Prepare and implement part validation and test plans, including PPAP protocols.

·       Work closely with customers and program management to ensure quality standards are met.

·       Supervise the implementation of planned quality activities, including documentation and testing.

·       Conduct audits, participate in run-at-rate evaluations, and manage PPAP submissions.

·       Act on discrepancies, coordinating with production and updating relevant documentation.

·       Assist in operator and inspector training, as well as the development of work instructions.

·       Promote teamwork and ensure a clean, safe working environment.

 

Requirements: 

·       3+ years within automotive manufacturing, quality related area.

·       Paint experience.

·       Associate or bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.

·       Experience with AIAG Core Tools, SPC, MSA, APQP, FMEA, and Control Plans.

·       Familiarity with GD&T and experience using Romer 3D Laser Scanner.

·       Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO/TS 16949 standards.

·       Knowledge of IATF

·       Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal.

·       Basic proficiency in Excel, Word, and Access.

·       Ability to train others and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
