This role offers an opportunity to lead and shape engineering operations for advanced defense systems, contributing to critical projects that ensure national security.

This position involves direct leadership of engineering teams, management of critical technical decisions, and ensuring compliance with rigorous Department of Defense requirements. The successful candidate will manage cross-functional teams to meet challenging goals, fostering collaboration and technical excellence in a diverse and innovative environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain engineering strategies for weapon systems, encompassing the full lifecycle from concept to production and sustainment.
- Oversee design, integration, and testing of high-reliability systems, ensuring timely delivery of engineering milestones such as prototypes, production units, and test equipment.
- Manage a multi-disciplinary engineering team, including System Engineering, Integration & Test (SEIT), Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Configuration/Data Management.
- Lead initiatives to identify and mitigate risks, ensuring robust engineering solutions are in place.
- Enhance collaboration across programs to leverage technologies and solutions, driving innovation and efficiency.
- Engage with customers and stakeholders to ensure alignment with technical and programmatic objectives, maintaining accountability for engineering deliverables.
- Provide technical and managerial guidance to support proposal strategies, cost estimation, and business development efforts.
- Oversee staff management, including hiring, training, mentorship, and career development of engineering teams.
- Ensure compliance with technical and operational objectives through proactive program engagement and leadership.
- Establish performance measures and lead senior-level reviews to evaluate engineering outcomes and project success.
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Software, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering (Master’s preferred).

Experience: 10+ years of engineering experience, including leadership in complex DoD or embedded electronics programs.

Technical Expertise:
- Advanced knowledge of undersea mission systems, rapid technology integration, sensors, signal processing, and cybersecurity.
- Experience with real-time, high-reliability systems operating in extreme environments.
- Proficiency in risk management and technology road mapping.

Skills: Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication abilities with demonstrated success in technical and team management.

Clearance: Must be eligible for a Department of Defense Secret clearance. U.S. citizenship is required.
