Trauma Program Manager

As the Trauma Program Manager, you will report to the Associate Administrator and play a crucial role in promoting optimal care for critically injured patients. The position requires strong clinical skills and expertise in trauma care. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans, maintaining trauma registry records, overseeing educational programs, and participating in department planning, staffing, and quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee clinical practice and care of critically injured patients.
  • Maintain trauma registry and generate Quality Improvement reports.
  • Develop and deliver educational programs for staff involved in trauma care.
  • Monitor patient progress during hospitalization.
  • Manage day-to-day trauma services operations, including staffing, budgeting, and leadership.
  • Actively engage in departmental planning and quality improvement efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with standards and best practices in trauma care.

Position Qualifications:

Minimum Education:

  • BSN preferred (Bachelor of Science in Nursing).

Minimum Experience/Skills:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Emergency or Critical Care nursing is preferred.

License/Certificates/Credentials:

  • Current California RN license.
  • BLS certification (Basic Life Support).
  • ACLS certification (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support).
  • PALS certification (Pediatric Advanced Life Support).
  • ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) certification within 6 months of hire.
  • TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course) certification within 6 months of hire (Instructor certification preferred).

Physical Demands:

  • Extensive or prolonged sitting.
  • Ability to lift/position up to 25 lbs. and push/pull up to 25 lbs of force.
  • Frequent reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to move quickly and adjust vision to perform job tasks.

Working Conditions:

  • Exposure to contagious and bloodborne diseases.
  • Subject to unpredictable situations and emergencies.
  • Exposure to accidents, injuries, and illnesses.
  • Occasional exposure to radiation hazards, radioactive substances, and biohazards.
  • Irregular hours and multiple inquiries/calls.

Compensation:

  • Pay Range: $128,960 - $205,920
