Our client in the linen and uniform service industry is currently seeking a Plant Manager in Ogden, Utah. Plant/Production manager experience is required.  Commercial laundry/linen service experience highly preferred. 
 
The Plant Manager is responsible for the decision making, direction and coordination of the efficient processing of all linen products including production planning and control, engineering production inspection, plant maintenance, purchasing and inventory control. This is a management position with hands-on responsibility and accountability for daily production flow and bottom-line results. This is a busy, high-volume commercial laundry operation with two plants. One plant is Restaurant linen and the other is Hotel. The plants are open Monday through Saturday on a single shift.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing plant safety, operation, costs and budgeting.
  • Spend a considerable amount of time on the production floor, observing plant operations and developing department supervisors.
  • Oversee daily operations of production, driving productivity, ensuring policies and procedures are followed, and suggesting profit-improving process changes.
  • Manage and supervise department managers (production supervisors). This includes hiring and training of direct management reports, providing direction and guidance, coaching and guidance.
  • Ensure high performance in efficiency, accuracy and quality in all plant departments.
  • Implement standard operating procedures with division and assure they are being followed to create consistency and standardization in all we do.
  • Utilize Spindle production management to drive production.
  • Help plan and determine staffing size related to seasonal business.
  • Analyze and recommend plans for improvement - assess and recommend equipment improvements, methods and process improvements.
  • Achieve budget goals to ensure profitable operations and continuous improvement for all plant service centers.
  • Interview, select, hire, develop, train and progressively counsel (if necessary) all direct reports in conjunction with HR.
  • Ensure compliance to internal safety protocols and OSHA rules and regulations. Introduce programs directed at creating safety awareness amongst all employees and move us closer to achieving zero reportable accidents within your division.
  • Be reasonably available after normal business hours when on call.

Requirements:

  • At least of 4 years of plant management experience, preferably in high volume commercial laundry
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, train and manage a team's performance
  • Demonstrated knowledge of plant operation methods, equipment, techniques, engineering and maintenance
  • Ability to manage, support, and motivate other people.
  • Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing.
