We are seeking commercial laundry equipment experienced candidates for a Service Manager role with a growing company that manufacturers, sells, and services industrial laundry equipment for linen service or uniform service plant clients throughout the United States.

COMMERCIAL LAUNDRY EQUIPMENT EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED

Location: United States (openings in multiple geographic regions)Travel: 25-50% 

Job Summary:

As a Service Manager with our client you will direct and coordinate activities of Field Service and Machine Technicians (directly supervise 4-12 employees) to ensure that goals or objectives of installation, service, repair and equipment modifications work are accomplished within prescribed budget, time frame, purchase order and customer requirements. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, purchase order parameters, procedures for accomplishing visits, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources
  • Establishes work plan, selects, assigns and schedules Service Technician for each phase of the project, installation, service or repair trip
  • Confers with service staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority and ensures staff are properly trained and have the necessary tools to effectively implement the work plan
  • Directs, coordinates and monitors activities of field service and machine technician personnel to ensure project installation, service, modifications and repair work progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget
  • Reviews status reports prepared by Service personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required
  • Prepares Service reports for management, client or others
  • Directs activities for the timely preparation of customer billing for service trips
  • Confers with Service personnel and customers and offers technical solutions to resolve complex system installation requirements and application design issues
  • Interfaces with manufacturer to resolve technical issues pertaining to equipment and parts design and installation
  • Works closely with regional sales for activities regarding repeat visits and parts sales as well as for installations and such tasks to increase regional revenue stream
  • Provides technical support during major sales negotiations
  • Confers with parts and purchasing departments in troubleshooting and resolving problems
  • Reviews and studies existing equipment, facilities, systems and processes to improve efficiency, increase quality, reduce costs and makes recommendations to management
  • Ensures department policies and procedures are followed, safe working conditions are maintained and safety procedures are followed
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements:
  • 4+ years technical experience with commercial laundry equipment required.
  • Team management and supervision experience required.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical applications, input/output, analog/digital, pneumatics, hydraulics, sensors, PLCs required.
  • Ability to Travel - up to 50% of the year (weekdays) and sometimes on short notice
  • Electrician, mechanical forklift and other lift certifications preferred, but not required
  • Clean Driver's License
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Lots of face to face customer service responsibility in this role.
