Client is searching for a Chief Engineer (Maintenance Manager) for a commercial laundry operation in Baltimore, MD.

Job Summary:Working as a Laundry Chief Engineer, you are responsible for organizing and directing programs to maintain buildings, grounds, and equipment through appropriate utilization of resources and delegation of responsibility. You will oversee and coordinate these activities to ensure a safe, clean, and efficient operation. You will plan the course of these activities to meet financial/budgetary and regulatory requirements. You will maintain active and satisfactory working relationships with the rest of the management team and staff. You will provide leadership and guidance in the overall operation of the plant.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Safety is Priority #1. Ensure a safe working environment, and protection of all company assets
  • Ensure the proper maintenance, preventive maintenance (PMs), repairs, and installations are conducted on all plant equipment.
  • Supervise, direct, coordinate and assign daily work schedules to ensure accountability for the team.
  • Develop and implement computerized methods, control systems and procedures to ensure a fully operational and productive preventive maintenance program, parts stockroom and inventory system.
  • Monitoring and ensuring the efficient use of all utilities, practicing energy conservation through usage reduction and cost control.
  • Recommend and communicate to senior management on capital expenditures, equipment, parts, supplies, and materials.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 4 years maintenance management experience with specific knowledge of industrial equipment.
  • PLC, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical trouble shooting, oxy-acetylene welding and plasma cutting welding
  • Experience Kannegeisser or Lavatec laundry equipment is a HUGE PLUS
  • Military experience is a plus. Navy or Coast Guard Rank E-5 + with experience as ET- Electronics Technician, IC – Interior Communications, MM – Machinist Mate, EM- Electricians Mate is highly sought after
  • Must have a preventive maintenance mindset, and experience managing a PM program in this industry or a similar industry.
  • Safety conscious with demonstrated success in building and implementing safety programs to promote Safety culture.
  • Previous supervisory/management experience is required. Proven ability to lead and train a team of maintenance technicians.
  • Must be a team player with enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work well done; self-starter dedicated to continual quality improvement.
