As an Accountant, you will be a key member of the accounting and finance department, providing essential support and excellent customer service to internal teams, clients, and vendors.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Processing and reviewing pay applications from subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contractual terms and project specifications.
• Collaborating closely with project managers to gather necessary documentation for pay applications, including progress reports, invoices, and lien waivers.
• Maintaining organized records of all relevant financial documents, such as pay applications, invoices, and change orders.
• Preparing comprehensive pay application packages for client submissions, verifying completeness and accuracy.
• Coordinating with internal and external parties to swiftly resolve any discrepancies or issues related to pay applications.
• Generating critical reports and updates on pay application status, budget vs. actual costs, and project financial performance.
• Assisting in the preparation of monthly financial statements and reports, including reconciliation of pay application amounts with project budgets and forecasts.
• Staying informed about industry regulations, best practices, and emerging trends in pay applications and construction accounting.
• Providing support during audits and compliance reviews by compiling documentation and responding to inquiries.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Five plus years of experience in accounting in construction 
• Solid knowledge of finance, accounting, taxes, and related principles and practices.
• A strong understanding of construction contracts, billing processes, and project accounting principles.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Willingness to work as a team as the company grows and needs change.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding ethical standards in all financial transactions.
