Position Summary

The Pathology Sales Representative will primarily focus on identifying new business opportunities while also nurturing and expanding existing client relationships within a designated territory. This role involves a deep understanding of customer needs and strategically promoting pathology products and services. The Pathology Sales Representative will be responsible for driving revenue growth and client retention by building consultative relationships and aligning the company's offerings with client needs.

A successful Pathology Sales Representative will follow a results-oriented approach, balancing customer needs with territory growth. This role requires managing the full sales cycle while providing exceptional service. The position involves approximately 60% travel (up to 90%).

The territory for this role covers Southern California, including the greater Los Angeles area up to Bakersfield. The ideal base location for this role is Orange County/Los Angeles.

Key Responsibilities

• Spend approximately 70% of time prospecting high-value targets, 20% on client retention and expanding case volume, and 10% on administrative tasks.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customers, ensuring strong relationships and effective communication.
• Develop and implement strategic business plans to achieve and exceed sales quotas while following company policies and procedures.
• Drive revenue growth within the assigned territory by identifying new business opportunities, delivering compelling value propositions, and converting leads into clients.
• Negotiate and finalize contracts with clients.
• Maintain expertise in Anatomic Pathology, particularly in Dermatology (Derm), Gastrointestinal (GI), and Genitourinary (GU) pathology.
• Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to meet performance goals and exceed customer expectations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of successful sales experience in healthcare (both product and service), preferably with experience in selling to physicians and ambulatory surgery centers.
• 2+ years of experience in anatomical pathology sales preferred.
• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is preferred.
• Ability to travel up to 60%, with the potential to increase to 90%, and work flexible hours as required.

• Proven ability to identify opportunities and develop long-term, profitable relationships with clients.
• Strong understanding of client relationships with physicians, and the ability to tailor service and technology solutions to their pathology needs.

• Quick to learn and apply knowledge of proprietary software systems.
