We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Anatomic and Clinical Pathologist (AP/CP) to become an integral part of our hospital-based pathology team in Bakersfield, California. This role is ideal for a professional committed to delivering exceptional diagnostic services and enhancing patient care in a dynamic community hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive pathology services, including surgical pathology, cytopathology, and oversee clinical laboratory operations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical teams to ensure timely and precise diagnostic outcomes.
- Engage in tumor boards, quality assurance activities, and contribute to laboratory management.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies and adhere to regulatory standards.
- Act as a medical liaison between the pathology department and other hospital departments.
Qualifications:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Board certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology (AP/CP) by the American Board of Pathology.
- Eligibility for or possession of an active California medical license.
- Strong diagnostic expertise in general surgical pathology and cytopathology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a commercial laboratory environment.
- Subspecialty training or experience in a high-volume pathology setting.
- Familiarity with laboratory accreditation standards such as CAP and CLIA.
