We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Trusts and Estates Administration Paralegal to join our team in Smithtown. This full-time role requires a professional with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field, capable of effectively collaborating with clients, attorneys, and accountants. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organizational and communication skills, as well as proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Excel. A Paralegal Certification from an ABA-approved program is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all phases of trusts and estates administration.
  • Apply a strong understanding of Surrogate’s Court rules and procedures, including probate, administration, and accounting proceedings.
  • Prepare estate tax returns, with preference for candidates who are familiar with this process.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in trust and estate administration.
  • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive tasks efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail and capacity to handle document-intensive cases.
  • Proficient in Lexis, Westlaw, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certificate preferred.
  • A team player with initiative, ownership of work product, and a commitment to maintaining client relationships.

Compensation and Benefits:

The position offers an annualized salary range of $70,000 to $90,000, in addition to a comprehensive benefits package.
