Estimating Manager- Structural Steel Fabrication/Erecting

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the estimating team in preparing accurate cost estimates for steel fabrication and erection projects.
• Review architectural and structural drawings to determine material quantities, labor needs, and equipment costs.
• Analyze bids from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure alignment with project specifications and budget.
• Develop and maintain cost databases using historical data and industry benchmarks.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather technical details and ensure estimates reflect real-world conditions.
• Present and justify estimates to senior management and clients during bid review meetings.
• Implement best practices in cost estimation and update protocols regularly.

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Certifications like Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or Certified Cost Professional (CCP) are highly valued.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in steel estimating or construction cost management.
• Prior supervisory experience is often preferred.
• Familiarity with estimation software and tools such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Tekla or Fabtrol is a plus.
