Senior Accountant – Remote | Long-Term Contract

Location: Remote - Must be able to meet in person for an Executive Meeting each week

The Story of the Staff Accountant

Our client, a growing and investment-focused organization, is seeking a Staff Accountant to take ownership of daily accounting operations and financial reporting across multiple business lines—including corporate, investment, and real-estate portfolios. This is a hands-on, detail-driven role ideal for a professional who thrives in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment and enjoys building structure within evolving systems.

You’ll serve as the financial backbone of the organization—ensuring accuracy, compliance, and insight at every level. From balancing books and reconciling accounts to supporting tax preparation and investment tracking, your work will directly influence the company’s financial health and strategic growth.

What You’ll Do

Revenue & Receivables

  • Record and reconcile all company revenue streams and related commissions.

  • Maintain accurate A/R records, ensuring timely collection and proper posting.

Accounts Payable & Expense Management

  • Process vendor invoices, verify payments, and maintain organized A/P files.

  • Classify and code all expenses according to the company’s Chart of Accounts.

Bookkeeping & Financial Recording

  • Record deposits, transactions, and monthly reconciliations in accounting software.

  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure compliance with GAAP standards.

Financial Reporting & Oversight

  • Prepare monthly financial statements and key metric dashboards (A/P, A/R, cash flow).

  • Monitor budget alignment and flag discrepancies, overspending, or irregularities.

Tax & Compliance

  • Support tax preparation for corporate and investment entities.

  • Track and maintain compliance for income, sales, payroll, property, and franchise taxes.

  • Prepare audit-ready financials and partner with external tax advisors.

Investment Accounting & Support

  • Maintain accounting for real-estate investments and related performance metrics.

  • Support strategic financial planning, cash management, and budgeting discussions.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).

  • 3–5 years of accounting or financial operations experience.

  • Experience in real estate or investment accounting preferred.

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero, or similar accounting platforms.

  • Advanced Excel skills and strong understanding of GAAP.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, analytical ability, and organizational skill.

  • High integrity, professionalism, and ability to work independently.
