A precision machining company based in Elkhart, Indiana is adding a Brown & Sharpe Screw Machinist to their team. This team specializes in high-quality components for industries such as agricultural, heavy equipment, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, fluid power, and electrical power systems. Their  manufacturing capabilities include multi-spindle screw machines, CNC turning, grinding, and vertical machining centers.

Brown & Sharpe Screw Machinist Position Overview

They are seeking experienced and reliable Screw Machine Operators to join our production team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with setup, operation, and maintenance of multi-spindle screw machines and strong attention to detail in a high-precision environment. Experience with Brown & Sharpe Machines required. 

Brown & Sharpe Screw Machinist Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and maintain multi-spindle screw machines following established procedures and layouts
• Perform all tooling adjustments, tool changes, and minor machine repairs
• Read and interpret blueprints and use standard quality gauges and precision measuring instruments
• Submit first-piece samples to the quality department and perform in-process inspections
• Work collaboratively with the manufacturing and quality teams within our ISO 9001:2015 certified system
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.

Brown & Sharpe Screw Machinist Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Ability to read blueprints and use micrometers and other precision measuring tools
• Must provide own basic tools and micrometers
• Must pass a drug screen and background check
• Basic math test administered during interview
