Vice President – Regional Asset Management

Location: Texas-based (remote, but requires relocation to Texas)
Compensation: $180,000–$200,000 base + annual bonus potential

A national leader in affordable housing is seeking a Vice President of Regional Asset Management to oversee a portfolio of regulated multifamily properties and lead a regional team of asset managers and analysts. This is a strategic and operational leadership role with visibility to senior leadership and ownership stakeholders.

The VP will be responsible for driving portfolio performance, ensuring full compliance with affordable housing regulations (including LIHTC and HUD programs), and managing a diverse regional team. The ideal candidate brings deep financial expertise, a background in regulated housing, and the ability to manage cross-functional partnerships across property management, capital planning, compliance, and investor relations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the performance strategy for a regional portfolio of affordable multifamily properties of more than 50 properties and 10,000 units

  • Manage and mentor a team of asset managers and analysts

  • Oversee financial performance, budgeting, and long-term capital planning

  • Ensure compliance with LIHTC, HUD, and other regulatory requirements

  • Partner with internal and third-party management teams to execute operational goals

  • Analyze market conditions and asset-level data to identify opportunities and risks

  • Provide regular reporting and insights to senior leadership and investment partners

  • Conduct site inspections and participate in talent evaluation across the portfolio

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 7+ years of real estate or portfolio management experience, ideally in affordable or multifamily housing

  • Strong understanding of LIHTC, HUD programs, and affordable housing compliance

  • Proven track record in asset performance strategy, financial modeling, and stakeholder management

  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing people and guiding professional development

  • Comfortable engaging directly with executive stakeholders and institutional partners

  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, or related field (required)

  • Personal commitment to the mission of preserving and improving affordable housing
