Associate Director of Real Estate DevelopmentSummary:Provides leadership for housing development projects in the region or within a developmentteam, and supervises at least two development staff, including project developers andassistants. Focused primarily on executing existing pipeline, including troubleshooting problemsas they arise. Project manages no more than two projects. Supports Director/VP Real EstateDevelopment on business development initiatives. This position is eligible for a hybrid workschedule.• Supervise at least one Housing Developer I or II and a Project Assistant. Promote andcoordinate staff development activities. This includes overseeing evaluation and goalsetting for direct reports and cultivating their professional development.• Represent the regional office in matters relating to the housing development work ofthe organization. Maintain communication with federal, state, and city officials, andother local housing providers.• Establish housing production and fee collection goals in coordination with the regionalteam.• Meet regularly with the Vice President of Real Estate Development and teamand provide reports. • Maintain detailed knowledge of public funding priorities and requirements and help theReal Estate Division take a strategic approach to project selection and development.• Identify areas of risk within the pipeline or specific projects. Work with developmentstaff to take steps necessary in design, financing, and/or entitlements to mitigate. Serveas first line of support to development staff in resolving project issues with internal andexternal parties.• Ensure appropriate application and technical support for team for funding packages.• Work with other organizations within the housing development, healthcare andreligious communities to create opportunities and support for low-income housingdevelopment.• Coordinate submission process for project approvals.
• Ensure local approvals and neighborhood acceptance of proposed development projects occur, including submitting land use applications, and attendanceat hearings and neighborhood meetings.• Review project budgets and disbursement models for other real estate staff foraccuracy.• Oversee submission of applications for funding and negotiation of financing terms.
