Overview:

We are in search of a dedicated and strategic Assistant Vice President/Regional Asset Manager to become a vital part of our Asset Management team. This role is crucial in steering the strategic vision for asset management across regions and is responsible for enhancing the operational performance and value of the assigned property portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Craft and execute asset management strategies aimed at maximizing property performance, enhancing cash flow, and ensuring portfolio value, while honoring affordability commitments.
  • Portfolio Oversight: Manage a regional portfolio of affordable housing properties, ensuring alignment with HUD, LIHTC, and other regulatory mandates at federal, state, and local levels.
  • Financial Performance: Oversee property budgets and long-term financial plans, collaborating with property managers to optimize NOI and achieve financial targets.
  • Team Development and Collaboration: Partner with property management to maintain consistent operational strategy execution, and collaborate with Development and Acquisitions teams for smooth transitions of new properties.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Proactively identify and address potential risks, including developing corrective actions to tackle performance or compliance issues.

Skills and Competencies:

  • In-depth knowledge of affordable housing programs and compliance requirements.
  • Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective stakeholder collaboration.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive, results-oriented approach.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Real Estate, or a related field is preferred.
  • At least 7 years of experience in asset management, real estate, or property management, with a strong emphasis on affordable housing.
  • Proven understanding of LIHTC, HUD programs, and other affordable housing regulations.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in financial modeling, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Effective communicator who listens and collaborates effectively across teams.
  • Proven ability to drive results and adapt based on feedback to enhance performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, align, and manage ambiguity in strategic initiatives.
  • Commitment to professional development and resilience in achieving team goals.

Three positions are available, each managing a portfolio centered in DC, FL, and the TX regions. Each offers a remote option but requires residence in the state in which the asset managed portfolio resides.
