We specialize in high-end residential projects that require precision, artistry, and an unwavering respect for design. Every home we build reflects a relentless commitment to quality and lasting relationships.

We are seeking an Assistant Superintendent in the San Antonio area who is hungry to learn, takes pride in doing things the right way, and wants to be part of a high-performing team that balances humility, hard work, and humor while building some of the coolest homes in Texas.

At Dalgleish, we are guided by core principles that define how we work and why we excel: we Sweat the Details to elevate every decision and finish, Seek to Serve by honoring the trust placed in us, Do Hard Things by thriving on challenges, and Leverage the Lessons by learning from every experience to continually improve. These values aren't slogans—they are lived out daily in the way we build, collaborate, and grow.

Let us tell you more about the opportunity to work with this great team!

The Opportunity

As an Assistant Superintendent, you’ll play a hands-on role in supporting field operations for high-end residential projects in the San Antonio area. You’ll work as an integral part of the project team—assisting with layout, coordination, quality control, and safety. This position is ideal for someone who wants to deepen their technical construction skills while contributing meaningfully to the pace and precision of a large-scale residential build.

You will assist Superintendents and trade partners in staying ahead of schedule by helping ensure scopes are well-prepared before work begins. You’ll keep a close eye on site logistics, walk the project daily, and provide input when field conditions or drawings don’t align. Your boots will wear out, your clothes will get dirty, and your teammates will come to count on your reliability and integrity.

This role is for someone who:

  • Has a solid foundation of build knowledge and can confidently interpret complex construction documents and identify potential conflicts or discrepancies.
  • Possesses a strong understanding of end-to-end construction phases—from foundation to finishes—with specific experience in scopes such as waterproofing, window and door installation, roofing, or is eager to develop this technical depth quickly.
  • Thrives in a physically demanding environment where adaptability and initiative are essential.
  • Consistently shows up early, ready to work, and enjoys being a part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support layout and pre-task preparation to ensure trades are ready to execute.
  • Assist with quality assurance—reviewing work before it is covered up or finalized.
  • Monitor project progress, documenting issues and communicating daily with the Superintendent.
  • Help coordinate material deliveries and staging to maintain jobsite efficiency.
  • Contribute to jobsite cleanliness, organization, and safety enforcement.
  • Walk the site daily to stay alert to upcoming needs, changes, or conflicts.
  • Pitch in wherever needed to help keep momentum strong and the team supported.

What You’ll Bring

  • 7+ years of residential construction experience (custom home experience preferred).
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and field sketches.
  • Proficiency with field measurement tools and construction layout.
  • Familiarity with jobsite technology such as Procore, Bluebeam, etc.
  • Strong sense of accountability and desire to grow within the field team.
  • Willingness to work extended hours when needed.
  • A collaborative, solution-oriented mindset.

Why Dalgleish

  • Competitive salary and performance/project-based bonuses.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Retirement Benefits.
  • Paid holidays and PTO.
  • Employee (Family) events.
  • The opportunity to work for a company offers the best of both worlds: the systems and stability of a larger firm with the heart and influence of a family-oriented business, where your voice is heard, and your contributions truly matter.

Join a team where your expertise shapes extraordinary homes—and where your craftsmanship, teamwork, and ideas help write the next chapter of our story.
