Systems Virtualization Engineer (Top Secret Clearance Required)

Our client is looking for a skilled Systems Virtualization Engineer to take a leadership role in virtualization initiatives within mission-critical environments. This role involves the setup, configuration, and validation of network components, providing technical direction, and troubleshooting virtualized systems to meet specific operational needs. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise across multiple IT systems and virtualization platforms, ensuring tailored solutions for different user requirements and secure access levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead virtualization projects, including planning, installation, and configuration of network components.
  • Provide in-depth product and service support to facilitate mission operations.
  • Conduct scheduled and integrated system testing on virtualization equipment.
  • Prepare and deliver insightful reports and presentations on system performance.
  • Facilitate on-the-job training for customers and junior team members.
  • Collaborate with other field engineers to maintain a high standard of customer satisfaction.
  • Execute additional responsibilities as needed within the scope of the position.

Requirements:

  • Clearance: Active Top Secret clearance (willingness to undergo CI Polygraph).
  • Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in System Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, plus five (5) years of experience in designing, managing, troubleshooting, and supporting various computer networks.
    • Or, ten (10) years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Technical Proficiencies:
    • Skilled in installation and configuration of:
      • Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops
      • Citrix ADC (Netscaler)
      • Microsoft Failover Cluster (current version)
      • Microsoft Hyper-V Manager (current version)
      • Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM)
    • Expertise in hypervisors, virtualization subsystems, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies.
    • Proficient in PowerShell and other scripting languages for IT automation.
    • Advanced troubleshooting skills, particularly for escalated issues.
    • Knowledgeable in designing and implementing cloud-based remote access solutions.
    • Experienced in utilizing Active Directory (AD) groups for resource access management.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with container systems and additional Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $165,000 - $190,000 annually.
