Seeking a talented accounting professional who is looking to move into a Senior Accountant role in a collaborative team environment with an industry leading manufacturer that has a fantastic culture and offers long-term growth opportunities.

The Senior Accountant will enjoy broad exposure including financial reporting, cost accounting, cost reduction/efficiency projects, financial analysis, and financial systems upgrade/maintenance support. This highly visible role works cross-functionally to maximize process efficiencies and continuously improve business performance as this growing company actively expands in a new, state of the art facility.

Responsibilities include:

  • Month-end close, report preparation for leadership, and continuous improvement activities in support of close process streamlining.
  • Analyze and report variances from budgets and projections, and maintain GL.
  • Learn industry taxes and oversee the payment of required taxes (excludes federal and state). Support preparation of the annual tax package.
  • Oversee the annual audit and inventory, conduct inventory cycle counts as necessary and inventory reserve analysis on a quarterly basis. Generate quarterly and ad-hoc reports for management.
  • Review rates of depreciation, labor, and overhead and to ensure accuracy of reporting during business expansion and new equipment installation.
  • Establish standard product costs, which will require extensive updates during active expansion period, annual review thereafter, and ad-hoc updates, as necessary.
  • Partner with inventory and supply chain management to analyze costs of raw materials and other supplies and create cost-benefit analyses with vendor management.
  • Work with engineering and operations to analyze cost changes in product design and new products, including raw materials, labor (productivity), and overhead.
  • Collaborate with team to analyze profitability by product and customer and provide standard reports of findings to management.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field required. MBA and/or CPA a plus.
  • 5+ years' experience in general accounting and cost accounting within the manufacturing sector.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems.
  • Demonstrated excellence in managing finance, accounting, budgeting, control, and reporting.
  • High initiative and integrity, deadline oriented, and excellent communication skills at all organizational levels.
  • Superior accuracy and attention to detail.
