Our client, a prestigious AmLaw 100 national law firm, is seeking a skilled Associate Attorney to join their Intellectual Property Litigation Practice Group. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated attorney to handle high-stakes intellectual property disputes across a wide range of technologies and industries, with the support of an experienced, collaborative team and access to sophisticated work. The position is open to multiple locations, with the firm's preferred offices residing in San Francisco, Houston, Dallas, Denver, Kansas City, or Washington, DC.

 

 

Candidate Profile

  • JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.

  • Active Bar Admission in the relevant jurisdiction, in good standing.

  • 4+ years of substantive experience in intellectual property litigation.

  • Demonstrated experience handling matters before federal district courts; Federal Circuit experience is a plus.

  • Ability to analyze and master complex technical and legal subjects quickly and effectively.

  • Team-oriented with a proactive, client-service mindset and strong interpersonal skills.

  • Prior leading law firm or clerkship experience strongly preferred.

  • Soft Skills: Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in complex intellectual property disputes involving patents, trade secrets, and other IP rights in federal courts and before the USPTO.

  • Draft and argue dispositive motions, manage discovery, and support trial preparation.

  • Collaborate closely with partners and senior attorneys on strategy and case management.

  • Analyze technical documents and collaborate with expert witnesses.

  • Handle client communication and contribute to business development efforts as appropriate.

  • Work on high-profile matters with opportunities for increased responsibility and leadership.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive Compensation: Includes an annual salary range of $230,000–$310,000, depending on experience and market factors, in addition to eligibility for a discretionary bonus.
