ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supervise all work activities by employees and all subcontractors.
• Backs up the General Superintendent as the OSHA Competent Person and be able to articulate the relevant safety regulations for the work being performed.
• Proficient with GPS machine-controlled systems on heavy equipment (where applicable).
• Know and comply with all Tucker Paving rules/policies and OSHA regulations, including but not limited to, trench safety, confined space program, Silica Dust Safety.
• Responsible for correcting any unsafe conditions that may exist or occur on the job site. This includes assisting with job site inspections.
• Follow through with any directions for abatement of any noted unsafe condition or hazard.
• Report to General Superintendent/safety any safety violations by crew members or subcontractors.
• Model safe work practices, including wearing of all personal protective and safety devices.
• Anticipate the equipment, material, and personnel needs for upcoming tasks well in advance.
• Proactively plan and schedule work assignments for project-related activities.
• Participate in all scheduled supervisory meetings as required, along with attending all other company events and functions.
• Always present yourself in a professional manner that enhances the reputation of the organization.
• Calculating the number of trucks required to haul materials to and from the project according to vehicle capacity, traffic conditions, distance from work site, and productivity of drivers.
• Oversee both labor management and quality control throughout projects.
• Maintaining time and materials records necessary to complete daily job costing.
• Assume other responsibilities as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Will directly supervise multiple projects & the crews involved in those projects.
• Recommends measures to improve productions methods, equipment performance, product quality, crew performance.
• Maintaining company policy.
• Supervising and coordinating crew activities, studying production schedules, and estimating work requirements for completion of job assignment in compliance with or beating the job estimate.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience:
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of managing crew related experience or an equivalent combination of education and training.
• Prior experience in a supervisory role.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ability to keep time and material records.
• Exhibit a high level of safety consciousness and a clear understanding of equipment safety.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• OSHA 30 preferred (but not required).
• Ability to set up & use effectively, site level, grade laser, pipe laser and straight-line level.
Communication Skills:
• Ability to follow verbal and written instruction and communicate effectively.
Mathematical Skills:
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals to compute rate, ration, percent.
Reasoning Ability:
• Requires independent judgement and conscious thinking.
Computer Skills:
• Ability to use iPad and smartphone.
• Ability to use Windows operating systems and associated software.
• Prior experience with ProCor preferred (but not required).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Maintain constant alertness to multiple concurrent activities of the construction site, including the activities of other employees and contractors, the operation of stationary equipment, and the movement of mobile equipment.
• Frequently walk on uneven surfaces, including natural ground in varying weather conditions.
