TECHNICAL BUSINESS ANALYST

W2 CONTRACT - USC/GC - no third parties

Under general supervision, uses specialized knowledge and skills obtained through education, experience and/or, specialized training to serve as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization in order to provide solutions to meet user needs. Provides business analysis support for moderately complex trading workflows, including analyzing and documenting existing workflows and validates the same as we migrate to a new product. May train or lead the work of others. Works directly with vendor product development teams to evaluate and recommend solutions. Extensive contact with internal customers and external vendors is required to identify, research, and resolve problems. This BA role is technical and functional, and Financial Services domain experience is a must. Need to be able to understand Order Management Systems, life of an equity order and trade and regulatory aspect of trading

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Adheres to established standards and maintains currency in business analysis practices, procedures and techniques.
  • Consults with users to identify, analyze, refine and document business requirements.
  • Follows up with internal clients about completed tasks to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Develops and documents testing strategies for trading workflows, creates test scenarios to test/verify vendor product updates.
  • Develops test plans and scripts and coordinates test transmissions, as required. Tests software.
  • Provides training and may lead the work of others, as required.
  • Reviews operational procedures and methods; maps current business processes; defines and analyzes business activities; identifies best practices; and recommends improvements.
  • Serves as a liaison between end users and software development teams, including functioning as a subject matter expert (SME) in translating requirements to software development teams.
  • Maintain currency in analyst skills.
