The Opportunity

We are seeking a strategic and experienced Senior Tax Manager to lead the tax function for our client’s dynamic and growing enterprise. This highly visible role will oversee all aspects of partnership taxation, including complex Up-C structures and ASC 740 tax provisions. You will drive tax strategy, ensure compliance across income and non-income taxes, manage audits, and partner closely with leadership to support key business initiatives. This is an opportunity to directly shape the company’s tax policies and processes while working in a stable yet growth-oriented environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and strategically manage all aspects of Up-C partnership taxation and tax accounting in collaboration with third-party partners.
  • Evaluate the balance between external tax support and developing in-house capabilities.
  • Oversee preparation and review of the income tax provision in accordance with ASC 740, including SEC disclosures.
  • Maintain strong documentation and record-keeping for all tax-related filings and activities.
  • Serve as the primary contact for complex audits and inquiries from federal, state, and local tax authorities.
  • Monitor and interpret changes in tax laws and regulations, providing proactive guidance to leadership.
  • Develop processes to monitor and mitigate tax compliance risks across the organization.
  • Collaborate with finance, legal, and operational teams to ensure accurate tax treatment of business transactions.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA or equivalent credential required.
  • Minimum 5 years of tax management experience in a corporate or public accounting environment.
  • Oil & Gas industry experience required.
  • Expertise in partnership taxation, Up-C structures, and ASC 740 provisions.
  • Demonstrated success leading tax strategy, compliance, and audits in a complex organization.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
