Job Description

We are seeking a Commercial/Business Insurance Account Manager to join our team. This role is responsible for assisting clients in identifying their insurance needs, recommending coverage solutions that provide the best value, and maintaining strong relationships over time. The position involves proactive sales and service, including cross-selling to enhance client engagement.Schedule: Monday–Thursday 8:00 AM–4:30 PM; Friday 8:00 AM–4:00 PM

How you will contribute 

  • Educate clients on policy coverage, changes, exclusions, and insurance needs

  • Evaluate prospective clients and qualify them according to company standards

  • Prepare and submit applications to carriers; create proposals and summaries; coordinate with producers

  • Review policies and related documentation for accuracy and compliance

  • Manage service requests including coverage changes, certificates, binders, and endorsements

  • Conduct regular account reviews and manage renewal processes

  • Actively pursue referrals and leverage internal systems to generate new business

  • Cross-sell additional insurance solutions and refer to internal teams when appropriate

  • Monitor non-renewals and cancellations to retain clients where possible

  • Stay up to date on industry trends, coverage options, regulations, and system enhancements

  • Demonstrate proficiency in agency systems and processes to support efficient client service

What we need from you 

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong customer service orientation with a professional demeanor

  • Thorough knowledge of business insurance markets, products, and rating procedures

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and agency management/rating software; experience with Applied EPIC is a plus

  • Excellent verbal, written, and organizational communication skills

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced setting

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience as a Commercial/Business Insurance Account Manager

  • Active Producer P&C license required

  • High School diploma required; college degree preferred

  • Background in sales or customer service-oriented environments preferred

  • Bilingual skills are a plus, but not required
