The Senior Human Resources Manager will play a key leadership role in supporting a dynamic manufacturing environment by overseeing HR operations, ensuring compliance with employment regulations, and driving initiatives that foster employee engagement, development, and retention. This hands-on position requires a proactive, people-centered professional who can effectively partner with leaders across all departments to promote a positive and high-performance culture aligned with organizational values.
How you will contribute
Serve as a primary point of contact for employee relations, investigations, and conflict resolution across all levels.
Ensure consistent application of company policies, procedures, and the employee handbook.
Support and manage disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans (PIPs), and terminations in coordination with senior leadership.
Maintain compliance with federal and state employment laws (EEOC, FMLA, ADA, PFML, etc.) and manage required reporting.
Provide support and guidance to HR generalists, management, and staff for complex, sensitive issues such as accommodations, misconduct investigations, and terminations.
Manage the talent acquisition process, including recruitment, interviewing, and hiring for managerial, exempt, and professional roles. Collaborate with department managers to understand skill and competency needs.
Oversee the administration of HR systems, records, and reporting through internal platforms.
Manage onboarding, offboarding, and employee lifecycle processes with accuracy and confidentiality.
Draft, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures that align with business objectives and legal requirements.
Partner with payroll and benefits administrators to ensure accurate compensation, benefits, and PTO administration.
Lead recruitment efforts for hourly and salaried roles in collaboration with hiring managers.
Coordinate with staffing agencies to address temporary workforce needs and conversion processes.
Assist in developing internal talent pipelines through succession planning, skills development, and leadership training.
Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies in hiring and development efforts.
Support the rollout and analysis of annual employee engagement surveys.
Coordinate employee events, wellness activities, and cultural initiatives that promote morale and reflect company values.
Partner with leadership to recognize achievements and milestones across the organization.
Analyze trends in turnover, absenteeism, and engagement to recommend actionable improvements.
Maintain and report on KPIs related to recruitment, retention, safety, and HR compliance.
Provide strategic guidance on organizational structure, span of control, and job bidding processes.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent HR certification strongly preferred.
5+ years of progressive HR experience, including 2+ years in a managerial or supervisory role.
Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or industrial settings strongly preferred.
In-depth knowledge of state and federal labor laws and employment regulations.
Proficiency with HRIS platforms (experience with Paycom preferred), Microsoft Office, and reporting tools.
Strong interpersonal, conflict resolution, and coaching abilities.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
