The Day Shift Maintenance Supervisor oversees maintenance operations within the Beef Harvest Division. This role provides leadership, direction, and technical support to ensure equipment reliability, production efficiency, and compliance with safety and quality standards. The position reports directly to the Division Manager and collaborates closely with operations, food safety, and other departments to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Supervise and coordinate maintenance personnel in performing breakdown repairs, preventive and predictive maintenance, and project work.
Plan, organize, schedule, and assign daily maintenance tasks while ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations.
Provide leadership and guidance to team members to enhance performance and foster teamwork.
Respond promptly to operational maintenance concerns and coordinate with production teams to minimize downtime.
Oversee maintenance and repair projects, ensuring high-quality work and timely completion.
Manage departmental expenditures within the approved budget.
Maintain safety, health, and environmental compliance within all maintenance operations.
Promote adherence to plant safety, sanitation, quality, and SQF (Safe Quality Food) standards.
Ensure appropriate staffing levels and coordinate employee training and development.
Apply disciplinary actions and enforce company policies when necessary.
Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in all work areas.
Complete special projects and additional duties as assigned by management.
Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing equipment, including pneumatics, hydraulics, piping systems, and machinery maintenance.
Proven experience implementing preventive maintenance programs and process improvement methods (e.g., Six Sigma, TPM).
Excellent planning, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Effective leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills across all organizational levels.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
Ability to prioritize, multitask, and perform effectively under pressure.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred but not required.
Commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
Diploma or degree in mechanical or engineering technology preferred.
Minimum of five years of facility or operational maintenance experience, with at least two years in a supervisory or leadership role.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
