A leading federal contractor is seeking an experienced and highly qualified SSC C2 Mission Support Specialist to join its dynamic team. This role provides the opportunity to work directly with Space Systems Command (SSC) Technical Agents within the SSC/BZC Division Space C3 Branch, contributing to critical mission success.
The specialist will be responsible for tracking and reporting mission risks, issues, and gaps across operational threads, developing and presenting briefs, and collaborating with key stakeholders. This includes close coordination with Federally Funded Research and Development Centers (FFRDCs), the U.S. Government, and both acquisition and operational communities to address challenges through innovative, collaborative solutions.
This position offers broad exposure to space acquisition and operational offices across the Department of the Air Force and the wider space enterprise, directly supporting national space security priorities and advancing mission readiness.
Provide direct support to SSC Technical Agents within the SSC/BZC Division
Capture, track, and manage updates on Risks, Issues, and Gaps (RIGs) for mission threads as identified by SSC/BZC leadership
Develop and contribute to the creation of professional briefings for leadership and stakeholders
Collaborate with FFRDCs and U.S. Government partners to identify and resolve mission-related RIGs
Work closely with acquisition and operational communities to resolve issues through innovative and collaborative solutions
Build familiarity with space acquisition and operational offices across the Space and Department of the Air Force enterprise
Active TS/SCI clearance
10+ years of experience in large space program acquisition, systems engineering, and/or operations
8+ years of experience with National Security Space ground, space, and/or launch systems
Demonstrated expertise in space systems and C2 operational environments
Proven ability to brief senior leaders with clarity and precision
Track record of effective collaboration on dynamic, cross-functional teams
Experience supporting SSC Technical Agents or similar space C2 organizations
Familiarity with space mission threads, operational risk management, and acquisition processes
Successful collaboration with FFRDCs and multiple U.S. Government agencies
Proven ability to operate on-site at U.S. Government facilities
Master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Astronautical Engineering, Mechanical Systems Engineering, or Computer Science
Candidates with lower educational qualifications may be considered through a waiver process, based on experience and performance history
