A growing organization in the Albuquerque area is seeking a proactive and highly capable Jr. Staff Accountant to take ownership of day-to-day accounting functions with minimal oversight. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has a solid foundation in accounting and is ready to step into a role where they can make an immediate impact. We are looking for a self-starter, someone confident in their accounting skills, comfortable managing daily responsibilities independently, and able to “hit the ground running” with little guidance. While some training will be provided, success in this role requires someone who learns quickly, takes initiative, and thrives in a fast-moving environment.
This position offers flexibility and can be structured as full-time or part-time, depending on the ideal candidate.
Responsibilities For Jr. Staff Accountant:
Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and expense tracking
Assist with payroll processing and job cost entry
Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely reconciliation of accounts
Support month-end processes and financial reporting
Collaborate with a small, close-knit office team to ensure smooth business operations
Provide general accounting and administrative support as needed
2–4 years of accounting experience (AP/AR, payroll support, billing, job costing, or similar)
Strong understanding of general accounting principles
Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office (Excel required)
Construction industry accounting experience is preferred but not required
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
Someone with a few years of hands-on accounting experience who feels confident in the fundamentals
A laid-back, team-oriented person who enjoys working in a small, collaborative office environment
A self-motivated individual who takes initiative, solves problems independently, and requires minimal supervision
Someone flexible, dependable, and eager to contribute to a company’s growth
Small, friendly team culture with about 10 employees in the office and 70+ in the field
Flexible schedule options — open to full-time or part-time for the right candidate
