Description & Responsibilities

Assist clients in their shop floor automation tasks, and be responsible for the integration and support of their IIoT applications.  

• Meet with clients to understand their IIoT requirements and provide recommendations on automation hardware/software
• Use Agile for design, coding, testing and deployment of applications
• Create drivers or devices, communications protocols and various interfaces  
• Propose connectivity options for production equipment using PLC's and control devices
• Develop applications to provide integration between devices and data acquisition systems that utilize protocols
• Create documentation and train clients
• Able to work remotely and travel 

Knowledge and Skills  

• Experience with Data Acquisition, PLC, SCADA, and MES 
• Experience with prototyping with single board computers, and help identify, select, and purchase optimal component solutions
• Installation and configuration of equipment controllers, networking devices, sensors and wired and wireless network devices
• Troubleshoot inconsistencies in equipment and system functions or sequences of operations
• Infor SyteLine or CloudSuite Insdustrial ERP experience a plus
• Support training of end users

Experience 

• Experience implementing MES or Industrial Data Acquisition hardware and software  
• Degree in Engineering, Computer Science and / or industry experience and certifications 
• Experience in automation and controls and with the following:
  • Interfacing various control systems
  • Debuggers, logic / protocol analyzers, embedded development, security, and networking concepts
  • Automation platform vendors and controls schematic / wiring diagrams, Agile / SCRUM 
  • MS/T SQL and coding languages
