Our client, a non-profit hospital system in Topeka KS, is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Buyer to add to their growing team.
The individual in this role will be responsible for the purchasing of pharmaceuticals, supplies and equipment needed by the pharmacy department. Reporting to the Pharmacy Manager, he or she will manage the inventory, maintain appropriate records, assist with communication regarding pricing and budgets, and monitor contract compliance.
Main duties:
- Purchase of all drugs used by the Medical Services and the Hospital divisions.
- Monthly charging of all disbursements to other divisions and clients.
- Serve as liaison with the accounts payable department on all outstanding invoices.
- Distribution of all drugs to the Medical Services Division.
- Experience with 340B programs a plus
Requirements:
- Four or more years of experience purchasing hospital/medical supplies and products; Pharmacy-specific buying experience strongly preferred
- Solid knowledge of inventory control and basic accounting principles.
- Great communication skills and attention to detail.
- Able to work with multiple computer systems operating within the department.
- Able to physically handle movement of pharmacy products within the department
Schedule is Weekdays only. The successful candidate will be offered a competitive hourly rate plus excellent benefits. Relocation assistance negotiable.
