Location: On-site near Cleveland OH.  The company will provide relocation assistance.

What You’ll Be Doing

Lead and align a global compliance team, setting objectives and driving process improvements reporting to the VP and managing an international team.

  • Create and execute strategic global trade compliance plans, including resource and software support.
  • Provide expert guidance on trade regulations, risk management, and compliance measures in a changing geopolitical environment.
  • Manage global Denied Party/Sanction Screening processes and escalate issues when needed.
  • Ensure alignment on tariff and export control classifications, valuation, and Free Trade Agreement programs.
  • Direct and oversee internal and external audits; lead investigations of violations and corrective actions.
  • Act as the delegated authority for government registrations, certifications, licenses, and import bonds.
  • Oversee ITAR/DECCS and EAR/SNAP-R registrations and serve as the ITAR Empowered Official.
  • Manage global third-party customs agents, consultants, and software vendors.
  • Develop and deliver global trade compliance training programs.
  • Expect about 10% travel as much of you management work is via Zoom/Teams.

What You’ll Bring to the Job

  • Bachelor’s degree in international business, Law, Supply Chain, or related field (Master’s or JD preferred).
  • 8–10 years of experience in global trade compliance or import/export operations, including leadership of global teams.
  • Expertise in HTS classifications, export control, Incoterms, and international trade laws (U.S. EAR, ITAR, sanctions, HTSUS,  anti-boycott).
  • Proven success managing complex trade audits, regulatory reviews, and compliance program design.
  • Must be a US Citizen, specifically authorized as U.S. Person as defined by International Traffic In Arms Regulations (ITAR) 22 CFR §120.6
