Our client is a leading global manufacturer specializing in synthetic filaments for a wide range of applications. They are seeking a Maintenance Manager for their plant in the midlands of South Carolina.
The ideal candidate will have strong maintenance and mechanical experience, along with proven leadership skills, plastics experience, and ability to handle preventative maintenance schedules. They will also be responsible for developing the team and assisting with the selection and hiring of new employees for the department.
Summary
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations of the facility, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of all equipment and systems. This role involves leading a team of maintenance professionals and implementing preventative maintenance programs.
Responsibilities
· Adhere to safety rules and regulations.
· Act as a safety leader by demonstrating safe work practices.
· Assist in thorough and accurate incident and near-miss investigations.
· Promote a work environment where safety is a high priority.
· Select and implement optimal equipment maintenance strategies to minimize unplanned downtime.
· Develop and implement measures to reduce breakdowns and repairs.
· Implement preventative measures to improve machine reliability.
· Develop Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) processes for new and existing assets.
· Perform data analysis to predict and prevent failures.
· Plan performance evaluation tests to identify potential production and safety risks.
· Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring failures and recommend corrective actions.
· Collaborate with maintenance teams to develop proactive maintenance strategies.
· Work with process engineers to ensure the maintainability and reliability of new and modified equipment.
· Participate in the design and installation of custom machine specifications.
· Provide technical support to production and maintenance teams.
· Work with the production team to ensure asset utilization and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
Requirements:
· Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent preferred
· Knowledge of statistical, mathematical, and engineering concepts.
· Experience with statistical and probability methods and tools (e.g., SPC, process capability).
· Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
· Logical thinking and exceptional organizational and communication skills.
· Ability to multitask and prioritize workloads.
· Understanding of engineering concepts in line with standard reliability practices.
