Our client is a Tier 1 Automotive supplier specializing in the production of injection-molded components used in various vehicle systems, including interiors and exteriors.
Summary:
As Sales Manager you will be the main point of contact for both new and existing customers, driving order acquisition and fostering long-term relationships. Collaborating with a global team from the US and Germany, you’ll manage account plans, RFQs, and quotations while contributing to strategic planning. Your role will involve working closely with engineers and planners, with direct reporting to senior management.
Tasks:
Manage existing customer relationships and drive sales growth by pursuing leads and handling all stages of the sales process, including quoting, negotiation, and closing.
Develop and implement strategies to expand into new markets and grow the customer base.
Provide sales reports to the VP of Operations in the US and Sales leadership in Germany, highlighting trends, opportunities, and performance metrics.
Cultivate a network within OEM and Tier 1 Purchasing & Development departments to support business development.
Contribute to marketing strategies aimed at promoting brand visibility and increasing business opportunities.
Represent the company at trade shows, assisting in booth setup, organization, and interaction with potential clients.
Travel domestically and internationally as required to meet sales and growth objectives.
Analyze performance metrics and recommend improvements to optimize sales processes.
Prepare regular sales forecasts (monthly, quarterly, annual) to ensure alignment with growth targets.
Apply problem-solving skills and a systematic approach to manage projects and address challenges.
Leverage knowledge of production processes, including plastic injection molding, interior paint, and general assembly, to understand customer needs and drive solutions.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a technical or business-related field.
5+ years of experience in technical sales, preferably in the automotive industry.
Strong technical aptitude with commercial skills, including cost analysis and breakdown.
Proven ability to manage projects under tight deadlines and deliver results quickly.
Willingness and ability to travel both domestically and internationally as needed.
Excellent negotiation skills and a customer-focused attitude.
Strong communication and presentation abilities.
Problem-solving mindset with the ability to analyze and resolve issues.
Experience in direct sales, sales support, key account management, and distribution channel marketing.
Fluency in English; German language skills are a plus.
Open-minded with strong intercultural competencies and adaptability.
