Clinical Laboratory located in central NJ has IMMEDIATE OPENING for full-time night shift (approximately 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. weekdays and alternate Saturdays) generalist laboratory experienced technologist/technician. A night shift lab tech is responsible for performing various laboratory tests on biological specimens, such as blood and urine, ensuring accurate results are reported promptly, while maintaining strict quality control standards and adhering to safety protocols within the laboratory environment. This position reports to Lab Manager.

Position Summary:

• Perform routine medical laboratory tests for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease. Responsible for operation of the laboratory.
• Perform technical laboratory functions including chemistry, hematology, urinalysis and immunology.
• Report test results following lab protocols alerting providers and/or nurses about critical results.
• Ensure quality control in collecting specimens, ensure appropriate sampling and maintain accurate record keeping.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies. Set up, maintain, calibrate, clean, and test sterility of medical laboratory equipment.
• Comply with all laboratory policies and OSHA regulations related to safety, cleanliness and infection control.
• Serve as a back-up to the Lab Manager as needed.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

· Associate or bachelor’s degree in related field required

· At least one year of medical laboratory experience required

Certification and Licensure:

· MLT, ASCP, CPT or AMT certification preferred

· Familiarity with use of computer, keyboard, copy and fax machine and phone

Pay: $29.00 - $33.00 per hour
