POSITION:  VP of Operational Excellence (Operations)

JOB LOCATION:  Dallas, TX

DIRECT REPORTS:  Few, if any

TRAVEL: 20-30% Domestic and International

 

Position Overview

 

The Vice President of OpEx Operations will define, build and implement key components of a Business System to drive improved productivity and profitability in the area of operations. Operational Excellence is one of the 4 key pillars of our strategy, and this role and function are integral to achieve those goals.  

 

As a Business System Leader, you will be responsible for the strategic leadership and management of business systems, ensuring seamless integration and optimization of processes to enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness.

 

This role will make an immediate impact by…

·        Fostering and driving a culture of Lean/CI  through Operational Excellence thinking and   systems solution approaches
·        Utilizing Lean skills and business system knowledge and concepts to deliver value quickly to the organization
·        Identify and deploy critical business system elements needed through in-depth assessment
·        Defining, developing, and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the success of operational initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

·        Foster a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement through the development of and training in, best practices, and standard work

·        Leading and coaching Kaizen events through hands-on participation

·        Provide overall leadership of the Continuous Improvement program through direction, communication, and overall support to operations leaders

·        Advance Lean competencies in leaders and employees at all levels within the operations organization

·        Set up and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of Lean initiatives and operations function optimization

·        Make use of a strategic mindset to align Lean initiatives and process optimization with broader organizational goals

·        Successfully implement Lean principles and driving operational excellence across the operations function

·        Facilitate meaningful improvements through utilization of Lean methodologies and tools to improve efficiency while reducing cost and waste

·        Identify and prioritize lean opportunities and work with operations leaders to drive positive impact across the organization

·        Utilizing a structured problem-solving approach to analyze current conditions, identify improvement opportunities, and deploy appropriate Lean tools to resolve

·        Conduct thorough assessments of existing processes and use information gained to drive to significant improvements through the utilization of lean tools and methodologies

·        Model the application of lean methodology principles and practices including but not limited to: Visual Management, Transactional Process Improvement (TPI), Problem Solving, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Gemba walks etc.

 

Education and Experience

 

·        Bachelor’s Degree required; Advanced degree preferred

·        Certification in Lean Six Sigma or equivalent, demonstrating a deep understanding and practical application of Lean methodologies with demonstrated expertise in Lean principles, including Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement methodologies.

·        Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in operational leadership roles, with a focus on Lean methodologies, process optimization, and operations functions

·        Strong understanding of operations and the ability to optimize processes within these areas

·        Experience in presenting to senior-level executives in a results-oriented culture

·        Proven track record of successfully implementing Lean principles and driving operational excellence

·        Capable of building trust with the team by providing timely, proactive, and effective forecasts and a high level of service to the senior leadership team to aid in decision-making

·        Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor as well as experience successfully optimizing end-to-end processes

·        Ability to develop and implement change management strategies to ensure smooth transitions and adoption of new processes while positively impacting culture

·        Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to form relationships with other leaders and stakeholders. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively

Compensation

 

  • Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience. It will include a base salary and an annual performance bonus, long term incentives, and other benefits and perquisites.
