POSITION:  Corporate Vice President of Lean Business System / Continuous Improvement

JOB LOCATION: Remote

REPORTS TO: CEO

TRAVEL: Up to 75%

 

Position Overview

We are looking for a Corporate Vice President of Lean Business System/Continuous Improvement to develop and implement the company’s Lean Business System across their enterprise. 

The Corporate Vice President of Lean Business System/Continuous Improvement will be an experienced senior leader focused on the development, deployment, and evolution of the company’s enterprise-wide Lean Business System to drive short and long-term strategic goals. They will collaborate with the executive team, site and functional leaders to drive a Continuous Improvement culture through establishing standards and ensuring effective problem-solving.

The ideal candidate will bring proven experience leading enterprise-wide Lean implementations and driving cultural transformations across multiple business units. They will demonstrate a strong leadership presence, exceptional facilitation skills, and the ability to coach senior leaders while effectively influencing and inspiring individuals at all levels of the organization.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the company’s Lean Business System in collaboration with the other Senior and Site Leaders to include the roadmap development, formalizing Lean Principles, Tools and Processes, as well as training, coaching to accelerate the “One Company” journey. 
  • Define and govern enterprise-wide standards, systems, tools, and KPIs for Lean and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Develop strong relationships and serve as a key advisor to the executive leadership team on operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Drive Lean implementation and culture transformation with a focus on employee engagement.
  • Manage enterprise portfolio of Lean improvements across the business, ensuring prioritization and ROI alignment with strategic objectives and expectations from stakeholders.
  • Report on Lean transformation outcomes and improvement projects to the executive team
  • Identify enterprise bottlenecks, resource gaps, and course-correct implementation strategies as needed.
  • Analyze business metrics, trends, and processes to develop improvement strategies
  • Utilize a team-oriented structured problem-solving approach to analyze current conditions, diagnose problems, and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Assist with stalled plant-level rollouts or transformations at newly acquired facilities.
  • Train teammates and executives on Continuous Improvement methods, both in formalized settings and stop-and-teach at Gemba.
  • Lead and coach multiple Kaizen events simultaneously.
  • Mentor and coach to identify and ensure a strong pipeline of Lean talent to support organization needs and professional development.
  • Promote best practice sharing and knowledge transfer across business units.

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Master Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of related work experience in progressively responsible roles including those in Continuous Improvement, Operations Leadership, and General Management with P&L responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and lead through others at all organizational levels.
  • Experience with leading successful Lean transformation and rollout across multiple businesses or production environments (built-to-order, designed-to-order, etc.)
  • Proven successful application of Lean tools including Kaizen, 80/20, Daily Management, Standard Work, Gemba Walks, Value Stream Mapping, 6S, Transactional Process Improvements, Kanban, Problem Solving, etc.
  • Experience with multi-site management and new business integration preferred.
  • Strong business and financial acumen, engaging and dynamic leadership skills, and bias for action
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and lead through others at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to engage with all levels of the organization, including training of peers as well as executives.
  • Team player that is always willing to coach.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; general computer skills and knowledge.
