POSITION:  Vice President of Lean

JOB LOCATION:  Remote with Travel



Position Overview


The Vice President of Lean will be responsible for driving a culture of Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence across the Global Quality and Operations organization. Once traction has been established, they will ultimately deploy the Lean Business System enterprise-wide. The right candidate will lead transformation efforts that will result in a culture that optimizes processes, reduces waste, and enhances overall efficiency in alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.


Key Responsibilities


·       Developing and executing a comprehensive Lean transformation strategy in alignment with the company’s vision and goals

·       Establishing clear KPIs and targets to measure the effectiveness of Lean initiatives

·       Building and leading a high-performing Lean Transformation team, providing guidance and mentoring to team members

·       Collaborating cross-functionally to promote a culture of Continuous Improvement

·       Implementing Lean methodologies such as Strategy Deployment, Value Stream Mapping, 6S, Standard Work, FMEA, Problem Solving, Kanban, Visual Daily Management, 80/20

·       Training and educating employees at all levels on Lean principles and tools

·       Identifying opportunities for process improvement, waste reduction, and cost savings throughout the organization

·       Leading and supporting projects to redesign and streamline workflows

·       Driving organizational change to embrace Lean principles and foster a culture of Continuous Improvement

·       Facilitating communication and providing guidance to ensure the successful adoption of Lean practices

·       Establishing and maintaining systems for monitoring and reporting on the progress and impact of Lean initiatives

·       Regularly reviewing and adjusting strategies based on performance data

·       Managing the budget and resources required for Lean transformation projects

·       Prioritizing initiatives based on strategic objectives and potential return on investment

·       Ensuring that all Lean transformation efforts comply with industry standards and regulations

·       Promoting a culture of quality and safety in all Lean initiatives


Education and Experience


·       Bachelors Degree in related field; Advanced Degree preferred with technical or operational focus

·       Demonstrated proficiency in Engineering, Supply Chain, Change Management, and Finance

·       Minimum 10 years of experience in management and leadership roles including 2+ yeas of senior leadership experience in a Lean transformation role

·       Proven experience utilizing and deploying Lean tools (Strategy Deployment, Value Stream Mapping, 6S, Standard Work, FMEA, Problem Solving, Kanban, Visual Daily Management, 80/20, etc.)

·       Exceptional leadership, communication, and change management skills

·       Proficiency in project management and data-driven decision-making

·       Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

·       Strong leadership and problem-solving skills

·       Demonstrated ability to present to and influence senior business leaders; experience in a matrix organization and with partnering at all levels of the organization

·       Strong risk management, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation experience for highly complex and large-impact projects

·       Demonstrated ability to operate in a complex environment, leveraging internal and external partners to meet the needs of the business

·       Must possess excellent organizational, planning skills and time management skills
