Operations Director

TRAVEL: Minimal travel
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Operations for a key manufacturing plant will execute the operations strategy and lead production activities in a Lean manufacturing environment. They will be responsible for guiding the plant to meet KPI targets, optimize resources, maintain quality standards, and minimize costs. They will have strong experience with Lean implementation and rollout.
Core duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Instill a customer-centric oriented organization by driving all aspects of operations leadership: Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Cost, Productivity to meet production targets
- Drive short and long-term manufacturing objectives to meet plant targets
- Foster culture of change through employee engagement and a hands-on management style
- Develop improved manufacturing methods, layouts, equipment, and techniques
Accountable for Lean implementation and culture transformation of the plant, including but not limited to:
- Drive a Lean transformation culture through leadership and employee engagement
- Establish a culture of Continuous Improvement environment by implementing key Lean tools and with an on-going pursuit of waste elimination, quality, and service level improvement
- Utilize a customer and a critical few mindset
- Implement and improve visual daily management and problem-solving
- Lead and facilitate Kaizen activities and coach at Gemba
- Implementation of standard work processes (in production and transactional standard work)
- Follow a continuous improvement approach for team accountability for achieving high performance SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) targets through a visual work environment
- Passionate focus and role model on safety programs
- Constantly prioritizes quality and demonstrates customer empathy
Build world class Quality Organization & Processes to meet new and existing regulations

Perform other duties as assigned by management
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Operations, Supply Chain or related field from an accredited university, required.
- MBA a plus
- 10-15 Years of leadership experience in an assembly-based manufacturing environment with 5+ years in manufacturing leadership
- Regulated industry experience
- Lean manufacturing experience required including 80/20, Value Stream Mapping, 6S, Standard Work, FMEA, Problem Solving, Kanban, Visual Daily Management, Strategy Deployment, SMED, Kaizen, etc.
