LOCATION/TRAVEL: Cincinnati, OH area with 25-50% travel between 4 total North America plants

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are looking for a strong multisite operations director to join a growing organization. The Director of Operations will be responsible for four sites in North America, including one in Mexico. The right candidate will have experience with and be responsible for identifying and developing strategic plans to meet operational targets, as well as partnering with leadership on Continuous Improvement deployment activities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Providing overall operations leadership across multiple plants to achieve financial and operating objectives
  • Developing and implementing a strategic vision with actional tactics in alignment with overall corporate strategy
  • Directing daily manufacturing and operations activities across four plants through Gemba walks and remote site management
  • Driving a safety-focused culture of Continuous Improvement
  • Utilizing Lean problem-solving techniques to determine root cause of delivery, quality, etc. issues; installing countermeasures
  • Providing leadership to Production, Quality, Sourcing, and SIOP groups across multiple sites
  • Collaborating cross-functionally and with leadership to determine a future vision for the business; ensuring one sustainable operations team
  • Driving Continuous Improvement transformation activities in collaboration with Plant Managers and Lean Business System leaders
  • Identifying and coaching future operations leaders and other talent for succession planning
  • Managing P&L for their plants within the division

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field; advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in progressively responsible operations leadership roles
  • Multisite operations management experience preferred 
  • Master Black Belt, related Lean Six Sigma certification, or equivalent experience with Lean deployment and tools (VSM, 5S, Standard Work, DMAIC, 80/20, Kanban, FMEA, A3, and Visual Management) 
  • Possesses and utilizes business and financial acumen
  • Facilitates cross-functionally, across all levels of the organization 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • General computer skills and advanced MS Office Suite experience
