REQUIREMENTS
As a member of the management team this person must have the ability to work well with a management team involving internal cost accounting, inventory management, and financial reporting.
Responsible for documentation of processes, systems, internal controls, and reviews against ‘Best Practices’ for operations, warehousing, distribution, and administration
Oversee the accounting related to manufacturing in compliance with U.S. GAAP
Manage the daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting functions including monthly financial statement presentation, annual budget preparation, lead the cycle counting and physical inventories, and coordinating year-end audit activities.
Responsible for review of transaction and cost accounting accuracy.
Conduct ongoing audit of transactional and master records for validity, workflow qualifications and cost impact.
Provide business analysis, forecasting and budgeting for the manufacturing organization.
Querying data from SQL databases to improve visibility to data for various company stakeholders.
Responsible for developing and analyzing cost-of-goods information.
Performing periodic costing studies on products/equipment.
Ensure that production Work Orders by product SKUs are fully burdened with appropriate costs in compliance with corporate cost model, and the regular investigation, resolution and reporting of actual-to-standard variances.
Maintain and make recommendations to improve the system of internal accounting controls as they relate to inventory and manufacturing.
Responsible for ongoing continuous improvement of accounting and administrative functions.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Accounting, CPA preferred but not required.
5+ years of experience in a process manufacturing environment with specific experience in cost accounting is required.
Understanding of U.S. GAAP as it applies to a manufacturing environment is required.
Proficient in pulling information from SQL databases. Excel-based modeling with strong computer skills is also required. BI Tools (QlikView, MS Power Query).
