Growing company, 100 years strong with recent expansion into the Sydney market. Listed company and best paying company in the region, niche work with little market competition, ability to network with tier 1 oil & gas, mining, petrochemical and water authorities.  Salary target 110-130 Australian Dollars
 
Reporting to the Project Controls Lead, the Project Cost Controller plays a critical role in supporting the finance and project teams in project costing, project accounting, contract management, analysis of project performance and forecasting the current and future resources, revenues and costs.
 
Qualifications/Experience:
 
 3+ years in a similar role.
 Experience in project / job cost accounting and reporting.
 Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
 Problem solving and analytical skills.
 Ability to pick up systems easily with advanced Excel knowledge.
 A great time manager, with strong attention to detail and ability to work autonomously.
 Ability to meet tight deadlines.
 Strongly self-driven individual with a passion for excellence in project financial and as part of a team.
 
Management
 
 Experience working with Workbench desired but not essential.
 Relevant qualification highly regarded.
 
 
Duties
 
 Establish and maintain project budgets and estimates.
 Establish WBS and review coding for all costs (to align with Forecast).
 Lead the process to generate the first forecast from tender data.
 Support Project Managers on all project financial and cost matters.
 Manage Client Progress Claims, invoicing and cash collection based on project.
 
Requirements
 
 Accurately delivering weekly project reports.
 Identify and resolve project financial issues.
 Preparation of earned value analysis.
 Liaise with auditors to provide analysis and evidence of project related balances.
 Provide guidance to non-financial staff.
 Ad-hoc work as directed by the finance manager.
 Identify and assist in the streamlining of finance processes.

You will be commercially astute and possess and demonstrated ability to influence, lead and negotiate a successful outcome coupled with demonstrated analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex information.
 
Qualifications
 
Engineering background is preferred over an accounting role but will still look at Accountants from a related organization and role.
