The Group Manager for Payments Compliance will oversee and manage compliance requirements across the payments landscape, playing a critical role in ensuring compliance measures align with evolving AML/BSA/OFAC/Sanctions regulations specific to payments. This position requires a deep understanding of regulatory impacts on payments, staying up-to-date with regulatory trends, and proactively managing compliance within the organization.

 

What You Will Do:

 

  • Lead advisory efforts on BSA/AML and OFAC compliance matters across payments. Conduct risk assessments, deliver compliance insights, and provide strategic guidance to business units to uphold regulatory standards.
  • Maintain awareness of AML/BSA/OFAC/Sanctions regulatory trends, informing the organization of new regulations, risks, and best practices specific to the payments space.
  • Act as a liaison between leadership, payments business units, and BSA/AML program leaders to ensure effective communication, alignment of compliance priorities, and strategic integration of compliance requirements.
  • Establish and implement strategies for risk tolerance, appetite, and management decisions within AML/BSA standards for payment channels and technology.
  • Partner with AML Learning and Development to ensure teams are properly trained on current payments-related compliance risks and best practices.
  • Oversee data, system, model, and control enhancements to continuously improve compliance efficiency and effectiveness across payments.

 

What You Bring:

 

  • Extensive AML/BSA/OFAC compliance experience in the payments space, with a strong focus on card brands, merchant services, payment processors, PayFacs, ISOs, and payment technology.
  • CAMS certification or equivalent AML/CTF certification, or additional years of related BSA/AML experience.
  • Proven success managing compliance in a regulated payments environment, including experience with merchant acquiring, ISVs, gateways, and vendors supporting regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency with both back-end and front-end processing systems and experience with Agile tools (Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, Jira).
  • Excellent program and project management skills, with the ability to coordinate complex initiatives across departments.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience creating executive-level updates and fostering relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Ability to embrace change, solve complex problems, and drive continuous improvement in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
