The Sales Engineer will support the sales and business development by acting as a liaison and translating between the selling organization and technical/product teams. Your understanding of payment gateway solutions will allow you to configure offerings, guide prospects through decision-making, and ensure a smooth onboarding experience. Ultimately, you will help drive business development strategies and contribute to successful outcomes for both clients and your organization.

 

What You Will Do:

  • Enable business development and sales teams to identify and close prospective partners and customers by aligning client needs with company capabilities and solutions.
  • Work with sales teams to understand customer requirements, provide tailored solutions, and support the sales cycle from initial contact through contract execution.
  • Serve as a product expert, offering in-depth knowledge of payment gateways, certifications, APIs, and technical documentation.
  • Act as a liaison between sales, technical, and product teams to ensure alignment and a smooth transition of client needs into actionable solutions.
  • Identify technical and product needs of prospective customers and partners, accurately representing the company's current product capabilities and future roadmap.
  • Respond to RFPs and present clear value propositions.
  • Lead needs assessments and product demonstrations, remotely and on-site, while answering technical/product questions and following up as necessary.
  • Provide input on product improvements and commercialization efforts by sharing feedback, client insights, and competitive updates with relevant teams.
  • Ensure a seamless onboarding experience for clients by coordinating closely with implementation teams.
  • Ensure opportunities move efficiently through the sales cycle by working collaboratively with sales, business development, and product teams.
  • Stay current on payment gateway solutions and provide product updates and technical guidance to internal teams.
  • Suggest creative and effective alternatives when gaps exist between client needs and current/planned product capabilities.
  • Partner with product and marketing teams to develop sales tools and training materials.
  • Support internal sales teams with product knowledge and tools for success.

 

What You Bring:

 

  • Experience in payments industry required
  • Experience of sales engineering or similar sales enablement role within merchant acquiring
  • Working knowledge of product development, general programming, and technical understanding
  • Solution-oriented with the ability to think strategically and creatively across the decision-making spectrum
  • Banking and project management experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce, Word, Excel, and the ability to quickly learn additional systems and software.
