Radar Systems Engineer 2

Location: Annapolis Junction, MD

Our client, a global leader in the design, manufacture, and support of advanced electronic systems for the U.S. Government, is seeking a Radar Systems Engineer 2 to support the adaptation and integration of international radar technologies for U.S. defense programs.

In this role, you will provide technical leadership in customizing, testing, and integrating radar systems to meet U.S. defense requirements. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams in the U.S. and abroad, ensuring compliance with military specifications while delivering cutting-edge solutions. This position requires up to 25% travel, including trips to partner countries for collaboration and system integration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the adaptation of foreign radar systems for U.S. defense use, ensuring compliance with DoD standards.
  • Collaborate with systems engineers, software developers, and field service teams to integrate radar systems into larger defense platforms.
  • Perform radar system design, simulations, performance analysis, and troubleshooting.
  • Oversee testing efforts, including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and full system validation.
  • Guide system-level design from requirements gathering through final deployment.
  • Prepare technical documentation: architecture, integration plans, test procedures, and manuals.
  • Mentor junior engineers and participate in design reviews.
  • Engage with U.S. defense stakeholders to align radar system performance with mission needs.
  • Support certification and compliance activities with U.S. defense standards.
  • Remain current on radar technology trends and provide recommendations for system improvements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems, Electrical, or Computer Engineering (or related field).
  • 3+ years of radar systems engineering in defense/aerospace.
  • Strong understanding of radar design, RF systems, and signal processing.
  • Proven experience with radar integration, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with U.S. DoD standards and military specifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to resolve complex issues.
  • Strong communication and cross-cultural collaboration skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% (domestic and international).
  • Must be able to obtain a U.S. security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree.
  • Active U.S. security clearance.
  • Experience with foreign radar systems and international integration projects.
  • Knowledge of advanced radar technologies (phased array, SAR, ground-based radar).
  • Familiarity with radar cybersecurity standards.
  • Fluency in Hebrew.
