Seeking an experienced Controller for an animal nutrition products company in Watertown, WI or North Manchester, IN. You will lead accounting operations and financial reporting, and be instrumental in ensuring financial integrity, compliance, and strategic support across the organization.
Controller Responsibilities:
Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and inventory accounting
Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Monitor and analyze financial performance against budget and provide actionable insights
Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements
Manage internal controls and implement process improvements
Support banking relationships and reporting requirements
Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors
Supervise and mentor accounting staff
Assist the CFO with strategic financial planning and special projects
Controller Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing
Sage 300 ERP or Planful experience a PLUS
PowerBI RBI experience a PLUS
Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, cost accounting, and internal controls
Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems
Tech savvy - comfortable using AI, new software/programs, with solid proficiency with Excel
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Proven leadership and team management experience - 4 direct reports
Assist the CFO with strategic financial planning and special projects
Strong organizational and leadership skills
Ability to accurately record and manage data
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
If located in Watertown, WI - Travel 1-2x per month to N. Manchester; Training over first few weeks will be in the North Manchester location
If located in North Manchester, IN - Travel 1x per quarter to Watertown, WI
